Anne Cakebread

Anne Cakebread is a painter and award-winning illustrator based in St Dogmaels, West Wales. A Cardiff native and Fine Art graduate, she has built a dynamic career across publishing, painting, gallery curation and arts management. Now focussing predominantly on her painting career, Anne’s paintings explore the changing climate and environment of Wales and are highly desirable with sell out shows and collectors from all over the world. A major theme of her work is the study of moments of drama in light and movement along the Cardigan Bay coastline Preseli Hills. Constantly drawing inspiration from changing skies and sea, she works fast in a visceral way often completing a work ‘alla primer’.

Her creative versatility spans artwork for national TV programmes, advertisements, magazines, newspapers, and major book publishers. She is best known as the creator and illustrator of the bestselling “Teach Your Dog…” and “Teach Your Cat…” language series, which have sold over 150,000 books.
